An Exceptionally Fine Example of a Rare Pair of Miniature Oval Portraits Watercolours on Ivory Paintings encased within their original highly ornate giltwood frames, of English origin which date to the early part of the Nineteenth Century.
Both in period costumes, the Man wearing a white cravat with a high collar blue tailored jacket, the Lady in a low-cut lace dress.
Condition: These paintings have been removed from their frames, the velvet cloth replaced, the frames have been re-gilt. The oval of the lady has a crack across her right bust and the ivory is not flat, this cannot be undone.
